Gravity Limit Switch is widely used in EOT cranes to control and limit the movement of lifting mechanisms within a predefined range. It ensures safe operation by automatically disconnecting the motor when the limit position is reached.

The switch operates through a weight-based mechanism. When the crane’s snatch block reaches its top position, it activates a lever connected to a shaft. This movement rotates the cam mechanism, which opens the contacts and stops the motor. The system automatically resets when the lever returns to its original position due to gravitational force.
